About Our Center
About Our Center: Our Mission & Approach
At Whisper Creek Counseling, we believe that reaching out for support is a profound act of courage and commitment to yourself. Our center, located in Arvada, CO, and proudly serving the entire Front Range, was founded on the principle that true healing begins when you feel safe, seen, and heard.
Our guiding philosophy is trauma-informed care, which fundamentally shifts the focus from the often-shaming question, “What is wrong with you?” to the deeply empathetic question, “What happened to you?” This approach ensures that we prioritize your safety and autonomy while addressing the root causes of your distress.
Our Specialized Areas of Expertise:
We offer comprehensive, expert care across a spectrum of mental health needs, including:
- Trauma & Recovery: Specialized treatment for PTSD, general trauma, and the deepest wounds of Moral Injury.
- EMDR Therapy: A powerful, evidence-based method for processing and integrating traumatic memories.
- Mood Management: Compassionate support for Anxiety Treatment and Depression Treatment.
- Executive Functioning: ADHD Assessment & Treatment for children and adults to improve focus and organization.
- Life Transitions: Expert Grief & Loss Counseling and support for major life changes.
- Relationship Health: Effective, evidence-based Couples Counseling and premarital guidance.
Our Commitment to Your Healing:
- Holistic & Integrative: We honor the entirety of your experience—mind, body, and spirit—to ensure comprehensive, sustainable healing.
- Faith-Integrated (Optional): We respectfully incorporate your faith, spiritual beliefs, or resources into the therapy process only if and when you desire it.
- Empowerment: You are always in control of your healing process. We collaborate with you, prioritizing your choice and autonomy at every step.
We are here to walk alongside you, helping you Refresh Your Spirit by confronting past pain, so you can fully Restore Your Hope in a future of connection, integrity, and peace.

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Practice.
What specialized services do you offer for ADHD?
We provide both ADHD Assessment for adults seeking clarity and diagnosis, and specialized ADHD Treatment to develop executive functioning skills, time management systems, and emotional regulation strategies that work with your unique brain.
What is the difference between trauma and Moral Injury?
While both can co-occur, traditional trauma (like PTSD) is rooted in fear based on a threat to life. Moral Injury is rooted in shame and guilt resulting from the violation of a deeply held moral belief. We offer specialized treatment for both PTSD and the unique ‘soul repair’ needed for Moral Injury.
What is "faith-based integrated counseling"?
This means we respectfully and thoughtfully incorporate your faith, spiritual beliefs, or resources into the healing process only if and when you desire it. Our center is welcoming and inclusive of all faiths and backgrounds, and this integration is always optional and led by you.
Do you accept health insurance?
At this time, we do not directly accept health insurance. However, we are happy to provide you with a detailed receipt (Superbill) which you can submit to your insurance carrier for potential out-of-network reimbursement. We are currently in the process of credentialing with Medicare, Medicaid, and Tricare.
How do I know if you're the right fit for me?
We encourage you to schedule a free phone consultation with one of our therapists. This low-pressure, confidential conversation allows us to hear your story, discuss your goals, and ensure we are the best practice to support your unique journey to Restore Your Hope.
